Coming back to Peng Chau to celebrate special occasion, we purposely looked through something unique to try out. Seeing all the good reviews from Openrice with its own characteristic rustic design, we bookmarked Island Table Grocer Cafe for our little island tour this time.After some walk under the heat and sun, we were craving for something icy and sweet. Coming back to Peng Chau to celebrate special occasion, we purposely looked through something unique to try out. Seeing all the good reviews from Openrice with its own characteristic rustic design, we bookmarked Island Table Grocer Cafe for our little island tour this time.

After some walk under the heat and sun, we were craving for something icy and sweet. There wasn't any queue outside this cafe during weekday. We went in straight.

Staff welcomed us with a sweet smile and passed their menus to us. Seeing their hanging notice of today's special, apple crumble cheesecake; we had no doubt to order that. Reading through their menu, they served variety drinks, coffee, tea, lemonade, chocolate, etc. We ended up ordering ice summer orange lemon soda and double lemonade soda. Additionally requested one signature homemade sausage roll.

First come first, their signature homemade sausage roll. It looked exactly like the Greggs' sausage roll in England. Smell aromatic and flaky. You could tell their quality of pastry when you cut it. Flakey and crispy but still held in shape. Sausage stuffing wasn't tasted authentic, they gave it a twist. Herby and light. Instead of using sausage meat, they used white meat instead. Mixed lots of diced vegetables. It was delightful. It wasn't as heavy as the traditional ones. Personally didn't prefer dipping their ketchup as overpowering its own flavour.

Apple Crumble Cheesecake came icy cold. I thought it might be tough due to the slight iced bits which gave me a sensitive tooth. Generous cinnamon coated apple sliced were well stuffed in the cheesecake. Apple were soft and fragrant. Love the fact that they were generous on the use of cinnamon. Crumbles were in a bigger size which I love how it tasted like cookies crumbs. Cheesecake was light and smooth. Didn't become tough due to the chill. Crust was buttery and just right thickness. Whole cake was exquisite! Love it.

Double lemonade soda was exactly what I was craving for. Icy cold, not surgery and very citrusy. Ice summer orange soda was also refreshing. Tangy with a hint of rosemary flavour. Love both drinks were mixed with zest of lemon and oranges. Fully bring out a citrus flavour.

Despite only few staff they were efficient and friendly. Very organised and good teamwork.

It was a pleasing experience to spend your time here. Food fully reflected the staff's passion while their smiles could tell how much they enjoy their time in this cafe.
Highly recommend if spending a day in Peng Chau.
