Whenever we're in Kwun Tong, we're never really sure what to have for dinner. Lunch is easy as there are lots of options. But come night time, most places close and we are always a bit lost except for the usual mall places. And that we try our hardest to avoid. And that is how we came to walk towards the waterfront where we found a new building we not explored before. And it was here we found Lagom Kaffe.It was very large and spacious. They had an outdoor seating area where I saw some people with their pets.
Menu is in Chinese with partial English. Ordering is done by scanning the QR code. Menu isn't very large but they have a larger drink list along with sisha.
While boyfriend ordered a beer as there was a happy hour deal where a beer on tap costs $68, I got myself a Berries Yogurt Lactose Free Milkshake ($52). It was smooth, not too icy. A light taste of mixed berries.
We ordered a Fish and Chip with Siracha Mayo ($128) as a starter. It was served with fries and a lightly dressed salad. There was also some ketchup for the fries though we ended up dipping it into the siracha mayo instead. The fish was fried well with a crispy coating that wasn't too thick. The fish meat was soft and flaked away easily.
For the main we shared a Braised Beef Cheeks in Tomato Concasse Risotto ($168). So full of flavour! The beef cheeks were so soft, one didn't even need to chew. The risotto was a creamy and not really on the al dente side which is fine with me as sometimes I don't really like it too al dente. There was so toasted quinoa on top to give it a crunchy texture.
Portion size was fairly generous and seating here was comfortable. It did start to fill up despite being in such a far off location. Service was efficient.
