We came here for drinks after work and also ended up staying for dinner. It was busy on a Friday night and bookings are definitely recommended if you want a seat. We order a few bottles of red wine and we all went for the surf and turf set menu. In fact, most people here opted for the set menu instead of the a la carte menu as it seemed to be a good deal with lots of variety. Complimentary breads with olive oil were provided, sorry no photo, but after we finished the breads we were asked if we
The first dish to arrive was the crab cake, it was nice and packed with crab meat which came with a salad. The crab cake was tasty with crab flavor, but it was a bit mushy inside as I think they were frozen and the moisture hadn’t been fully cooked away. Next was the lobster 🦞 bisque which was hot, rich and smooth with chucks of lobster, but there just wasn’t enough of it, the bowl wasn’t filled to the top and I wanted more of it. The main dish was the fillet mignon which I requested cooked medium, and it was cooked perfectly to my specifications. The meat flavor wasn’t strong, but it was tender and probably needed more salt. The scallops were too small and were insignificant on the dish. The famous Wooloomooloo hot chocolate cake was ok, it was crispy and hard on the outside and moist and hot on the inside, but not much runny chocolate.
Overall, good value for money, excellent service and great ambience and vibes for Friday night drinks!
