Boyfriend and I have walked by this place several times. Finally, on one fine cold Sunday, we bit the bullet and went in.It's an oddly old fashioned decorated restaurant. From the outside, it looks like a red brick Chinese restaurant straight out of Chinatown. Inside is also the same. Just a bunch of old looking tables and chairs. It seemed like this place hadn't had a renovation in years. It seemed that the staff was elderly couple. What does it serve? Vietnamese.Menu is in Chinese and English.

What does it serve? Vietnamese.
Menu is in Chinese and English. There are no fancy pictures. Just a laminated menu.
We arrived during afternoon tea session and they had the afternoon tea set menu. A simple bowl of pho with a drink among other things.
I ordered a bowl of pho with raw beef ($30). Let just say ... when I said raw, this beef was so raw that I literally still saw blood on it. The stock didn't taste very rich nor did it have a beef flavor. It tasted like your typical MSG flavored soup stock. The noodles were rice noodles and were not mushy (a good sign when groping for silver linings). The beef? It was ok. Tender enough. The tea set came with a drink and one of the choices they had available was a hot salt perserved kumquat tea. This was seriously the real thing. Not something instant package mix stuff. This was actually homemade. It was strongly salty and sour at the same time. This stuff clears any dry throat you may be having. This is powerful stuff. I proably could feel my phlem building up after drinking this.
