We got here by accident after being chased away unceremoniously from the Liu Yuan Pavillion down the street. The Liu Yuan Pavillion didn't like our looks, the way we dressed, or maybe my breath, but with 3/4 of the seats empty, they said "NO TABLE!"

No rejection feels good, but when I eyed the American Restaurant's marquee, I remembered reading something about it, so we went in.  Although our server kept saying in broken English, "it's a whole duck, it's a whole duck," we ordered Peking Duck for around 375 Hong King dollars.  It was rather good and we had no problem finishing off the "whole duck."

The Peking Duck was good, not the best, but good, and we enjoyed the "old school" atmosphere of the American Restaurant.  I wouldn't go out of your way to dine there, but if you get kicked out of another restaurant, it will do in a pinch.
