Cats... How to describe them? They've got personality; they don't have the need to please. Don't expect them to always respond. They do approach, but only when they want attention. Basically, they're the bosses. Such a character and yet so lovable. Just look at that face. For one, I'm always amused by cats when they position themselves in funny ways. Would you say 'yes' to a date with them? The best place would be at a cat café. You're in luck because there are quite a few in HK. I've only been to a cat village in Taiwan, so trying a cat café was a matter of time. After reading an article about HK cat cafés, I've decided to gather some cat-loving friends to Meow Mi Home.
Of all the featured cat cafés, Meow Mi Home had the best restaurant description. What caught my attention was that one could "play with more than 40 cats". I've also learned from the details and reviews that cats here are all rescued animals.
Upon arriving at the café, we were told to take off our shoes. Some of us had to buy socks (10HKD/pair). Don't forget to bring your own if you want to save a few bulks. The place was a little cramped in some areas, but still cozy. It was a bit difficult to get out of our sofa without disturbing sleeping cats.
The smileless service was, in my opinion, alright. If you have some free time, Meow Mi Home a great place to be because there are plenty of entertainment such as board games and cat toys.
As for the food, it exceeded by far my expectations. The Creamy Angel Hair with Assorted Mushroom was true to its name: creamy. The whole dish, savoury, was devoured within minutes.
