Sometimes, your mind craves for a quiet moment to yourself and today is one of those days for me. And trust me, it's never easy to find a quiet place in Wanchai during weekday lunch hour.
Lucky enough, I stumbled across Me Plus Pegasus on openrice and decided to give it a try. This lil corner cafe is located one block from Queen's Road, not too hard to find, and has its advantage of seclusion. There were only limited indoor seats, and some outdoor seats, facing the quiet street.
I arrived at around 12:20pm, and customers began to show up. They’re usually alone or a party of 2, which is perfect for the size of this café. I ordered a lunch set ($48) - Panini with egg salad & mushroom, and an Americano.
The Americano was fragrant, strong, and smooth. I like the design of the coffee cup.
The sandwich wasn’t a mere ordinary cold egg salad cafe sandwich; the Panini was toasted to crisp & warm, and the added sautéed onions and black peppers gave a subtle kick.The overall experience was very good. As I was leaving, the barrister was very friendly and engaged for a lil chat. It ain’t easy to find a coffee shop with heart nowadays.
Will I come back to this hidden gem? Definitely!
