We could smell the aroma of coffee right outside knockbox. Knockbox is not that big but it is of this size which promotes intimacy between coffee lovers and the baristers. He opted for the method but that day it was taken out to a competition. He wanted strong coffee without sour taste and the barister was more than willing to give him suggestions.
We ordered a smoked salmon and cheese soft bread to share. The sandwich was warm when served. Smoked salmon and cream cheese can never go wrong between bread! We also ordered fish and chips with a bottle of beer. The fried fish tasted crispy outside and soft on the inside. The fries tasted nice unlike the ones from fast food shops. I'm not an alcohol person but this beer grew on me. It's has a strong malt taste with hint of floral taste. I liked it a lot as it had a honey after taste rather than alcohol.
The cafe is quite and cozy. It's certainly an oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Mongkok.
