Went on a weekday night, just wanted to go somewhere that IS NOT ANOTHER CHAIN RESTAURANT INSIDE A MALL (and can just park right outside, reachable in 5 steps) Anyway, all of us ordered set dinner, prices were very reasonable. We shared a bottle of house red, nth spectacular but good enough for the price. Potions were just right for Asians, but can't tell for others tho... just maybe don't go after hitting Pure. It offers daily specials and a set menu, so always check the black board on the wall

It offers daily specials and a set menu, so always check the black board on the wall. Goat cheese salad was heavenly, would def go back for that. We also ordered olives to start with the wine, really appreciated the varieties, esp finding Cerignola (somehow hk’s definition of olives = plain old lame Greek olives, altho at better places you may find manzanilla, but finding Cerignola as well = Gem).
For the main, succeeded in requesting a veg option off the set dinner menu and was offered an oven roasted veg dish, not like those that are suffocated with fatty cheese at the top (lame), but it was nicely spiced and, well, similar to baked fries but a healthy version of carrots & pumpkins etc.
Apple tart for dessert was delicate and refine, not like the heavily sweetened brick-thick American type. Others were happy with their meaty dishes as well, but I can't verify on that. Coffee was divine and sums up a pleasant meal.
Decor was chic and humble, nth too cra cra or trying too hard, love the window frames and the curtains. Generally gave a Shoreditch vibe, quite fitting for the Island East neighbourhood. Walked out and the night was cool and drizzling, for a moment didn't feel like I was in HK.
Would recommend for a causal meal with fds, very reasonable price for the quality of food and service, but not like a posh place, but i suppose a good alternative to those chain western eats, and if going on a weekday, you will get your privacy and quietness (yes, they are possible in hk, but maybe no if I am also dining there)
