I always found the door of this restaurant very unique and have always wanted to try it. After all, it’s located in central, so it can’t be that bad right?I ordered a big portion so I can get to try different stuff. And to be honest the portion was good for value . So moving onto the flavour of the dish, although I ordered prawn curry soup, it didn’t taste like prawn at all. It tastes more like MSG instant noodle soup. I don’t think that there is much MSG coz I didn’t feel thirsty after the meal. I’d say the flavour of the soup is not good, but acceptable, as you won’t have the urge to leave the restaurant immediately(?).
However, all the other ingredients are overcooked and bland. For example, the steak was hard and a bit dry, and the Chicken was stringy. Then some vegetables that are supposed to be crispy are overcooked and soggy as well. You can clearly tell that all the other ingredients are boiled in advance in water, and then put into the soup when you made an order. In other words, everything just tastes bland.
Overall, I’m not quite sure how this restaurant managed to survive in central. There are 4 similar restaurants on this same street already and tastes a lot better. Of course they offer less meat and more carbs at a higher price to make you full. But after all it’s all about the taste, especially when HK people are very picky about their food.
