Summary: Good Thai food, authentic enough considering the area (where most clientele must be mostly locals). Price wise I feel it's normal for HK island location, although considering location it might be only slightly expensive for some dishes. I could come back for the fact that it's close to my place when I want Thai food, but not for someone to travel to the place just for the food.
The Goods: Food are authentic enough, but we prefer the taste to be stronger. Staffs are friendly (almost all Thais).
The Bads: The flavour is a bit neutral - Thai food should be very flavourful (sweet, salty, and sour all strong), but think it's adapted for HK preference.
Damage: The two of us ordered quite a bit and it came to HKD 372 (no +10% SC), or that's HKD 186 per person. We ordered only one lunch deal and the rest from main menu. To be honest, it was too much food and you can cut out one dish which should come to about HKD 100-140 per person.
[My review is long so I marked recommended or not recommended dishes  with underline. The dishes are bolded and each section for each dish - ends with the dish photo]

The shop is tucked away in a secondary street in Shau Kei Wan area. If it wasn't because I was exploring all streets in the area you're unlikely to come by it. It's a yellow shop. Normally I wouldn't mention this but they are quite obvious - with all the art works. Besides that it's a decently decorated  place, clean, and not too tight. Staffs are friendly and all seems to speak Thai.

What we ordered
We ordered only one set lunch (for the rice) and the rest from main menu - so it's probably equivalent to dinner price although it is lunch. For the lunch set, we ordered D. Fried Rice with Shrimp Paste Minced Pork (ข้าวผัดกะปิ) at HKD58 (no +10%) which comes with a drink by which we ordered ice lemon tea (normal HK style - sorry no photo). It comes with fried egg and pork floss on top, with Chinese sausages (but think it is Thai styled which is not as fatty). The fried rice itself is good, enough wok-hei, and rice is not wet. I personally think it could have more shrimp paste which will make it saltier, but understand this is probably toned down a bit for the locality.

I'm not sure if this is complimentary for everyone, or for those ordering lunch set (lunch usually is either soup or drink and we already ordered drink), or they're just happy to see other Thais, but they also gave us the individual bowl of soup (we got 2 bowls despite ordering only one lunch set).  I don't have a lot of complaint especially when it's free, but I think it could use some more salt, and longer boiling time. Although we are their first customer so might be that we're too early.

As always, we order a #201 Papaya Salad with Pickled Crab (ส้มตำปูปลาร้า) at HKD68 (no +10%).  It's only a pass, and I think it needs a bit stronger flavour. This type of papaya salad should deliver a punch (spicy or sour), and it's lacking both. Spicy I can understand (locals don't eat spicy), but it should at least has more sourness. It should also has more fermented fish sauce (it's very pungent but taste great!), which will make it a bit saltier. Other than that the papaya is crunchy (good), and portion is good. The price however is a bit on expensive side considering what it is.

We ordered #105 Grilled Chicken (half) (ไก่ย่าง) at HKD98. I would recommend
it but depending on how you like grill chicken. It's not going to be very juicy like what most people think of good chicken (me included). It'll be a bit dry and chewy but that's also something some people look for - chewy means more like a free range chicken and has more flavour. Although that part might not be as important as it is marinated, and I think it's pretty well marinated. It has adequate herbs and with coconut milk taste to it. The only 2 complaints are 1) it could be a bit hotter (it's not cold but just warm), and 2) could be served with special sauce. It's served with Thai sweet chilli sauce which is normal, but a tamarind sauce would make it much better.

Lastly, this is purely our of the fact I don't like to deep fry food myself at home, we ordered #210 Deep Fried Fish with Green Mango Salad (ยำปลาโบราณ) at HKD148 (no +10%). I think it's ok but I would not recommend it, due to 2 factors (both taste). One, the fried fish is not crispy. It's pre-fried which is totally ok, most restaurants do it for speed (otherwise it'll take maybe 15-20 minutes until the dish comes out), but they should have do another flash fry to both heat it up and make it crispy again. The second reason is the sauce. I think it's too light in sourness and saltiness (spicy for me too but I understand this choice).  I think it's ok but with 2 two factors, maybe try some other dishes instead.

Some final thoughts. I always ask myself this question; would I come back? It's a yes and no. Yes, for its location and ok enough food. It's authentic enough (not too adapted), and it's close to my place in case I want Thai food. But it's probably not a place I would make the effort to come to - you don't come to Shau Kei Wan for Thai food, you go to Kowloon City (I think?). Anyhow, see below all the menus (lunch and full menu)
