Until today, I always felt that Burger King burgers are far superior to McDonald's burgers. As such, I'm willing to pay a bit more for the superior quality. But today, I ate the worst Whopper I've ever had in my life, and I've had them in at least 10 different countries. Until today, I always felt that Burger King burgers are far superior to McDonald's burgers. As such, I'm willing to pay a bit more for the superior quality. But today, I ate the worst Whopper I've ever had in my life, and I've had them in at least 10 different countries. Sure, the quality of the beef patties has gone down worldwide - when I was a kid (almost 20 years ago), Burger King patties were crispier, yet a bit juicy in the inside. Compared to the dry, rubbery beef you'd find in McDonald's burgers, BK patties are heavenly. Not only that, but you get fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions, plus a nice smattering of sauce. Not at the Burger King on Staunton Street. If my dry burger weren't bad enough, my onion rings - for which I had to pay HK$5 to replace my fries - were all batter, no onion. Not even a HINT of onion! The outsides were slightly crispy, but the insides were soggy and flavourless. To make things worse, the prices at this BK are considerably more expensive than those at the BKs that closed down in 2015. A Whopper meal, for example, costs HK$65, and if you swap your fries for onion rings, that's HK$70, and if you choose Nestea lemon iced tea, that's another HK$4. Not cool, BK, not cool.
