This is hands-down my to-go place to satisfy my HUGE chocolate cravings!! First time to actually have a sit down mini sweet escape with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. Usually when I visit this store, its for a birthday so I usually go for the signature All Chocolate or Chocolate Banana. This time was different. We ordered four desserts to feast upon among the two of us, and paired the sweetness with an Earl Grey:- Chocolate Mille Crepe ($54 per slice): still one of my favourite chocolate cake
We ordered four desserts to feast upon among the two of us, and paired the sweetness with an Earl Grey:
- Chocolate Mille Crepe ($54 per slice): still one of my favourite chocolate cakes ever. I love this layered crepe with pastry cream. Seriously this mille crepe cake takes so much heart and effort to make - still need to try it out for myself soon!
- White Chocolate Butterscotch Block ($50 per slice): this has become one of my favorites from Awfully Chocolate too! its got a super unique taste combining white chocolate and sweet and salty butterscotch swirled together with a dark chocolate swiss roll. I love butterscotch - and when the butterscotch is paired with the dark chocolate it simply tastes heavenly. Very refreshing taste with that tinge of saltiness.
- Flourless chocolate Cake ($40): this had a really dense texture, moist cake.
- White Chocolate Creme Brulee Tart ($40): creme brulees are also my source of comfort dessert-food. Brings back a lot of memories growing up! This is a white chocolate custard topped with caramelized glaze. The custard was smooth, not too sweet. However, the caramelized glaze would have been even better if it was crispier to give a better contrast to the chocolate custard. If compared with Paul Lafayet, I prefer Paul Lafayet.
Still my favorite chocolate dessert store in town! Awfully Chocolate, can you please open more branches?
