My friends and I attempted to dine at this place whilst just passing by looking for somewhere to eat. We were two families, one dog, a baby and a heavily pregnant lady looking for a place to lunch. Since we had a pooch we were looking for a place with outside seating so as not to offend other restaurant clientele - although I realize in Sai Kung it's common for restaurants to allow dogs even inside.
We saw there were a few tables free in the outside seating area and hovered nearby waiting for a member of staff to acknowledge us. After a minute or two nobody came to us so we assumed it was self service and proceeded to help ourselves by rearranging the tables to fit a baby stroller and allow us all to sit together. As soon as we laid our fingers on the tables the western male (I believe was the boss) came scowling over to us signalling for us to drop the furniture.
We explained that we would like a table outside that could accomodate the 4 adults, one baby in stroller and dog. He muttered some words under his breath and grumpily motioned that he would do it. He started to arrange two high tables with stool seating even though there were low tables with low chairs available which would have been more accomodating for the mother-to-be.
He'd put the tables so close to the wall that even the non-pregnant of us would not be able to squeeze in. The way he had set it up only 2 or perhaps 3 people could sit around the tables we were staring disbelieving and told him we won't fit in like that. His demeanour was not friendly at all and he didn't seem to care. It was as if he didn't want our business, therefore we just told him never mind we would go somewhere else and thanks for nothing. He shouted something unpleasant back at us as we left.
Its a shame since perhaps the food is good here? We will never know, since the way we were treated we will never go back again. I just cannot tolerate places where you are treated so poorly and insulted by the staff/management and refuse to put money in their undeserving pockets!
