Went past this new shop a couple of times but I hesitated in trying it because I thought they would have more bakery items because the menu offered mainly hot dogs. With a name like that I was expecting bread and other bakery items just like Bake Out in UK.Anyway, tried it as I needed to eat something.Although they specialize in hot dogs, all them of were too fancy and seemed to be messy to eat so I went for the fish.Got the set meal willingly because they had Earl Grey Tea, had it been Hongkie
With a name like that I was expecting bread and other bakery items just like Bake Out in UK.
Anyway, tried it as I needed to eat something.
Although they specialize in hot dogs, all them of were too fancy and seemed to be messy to eat so I went for the fish.
Got the set meal willingly because they had Earl Grey Tea, had it been Hongkie style tea I wouldn't drink it.
The set meals come with a drink, fries/Japanese Bacon and Spinach Croquette.
The fish was quite good and they were generous with the tartar sauce but it was rather heavy and too sweet.
The fish filets were nicely coated with herbs that you can you see and it was good that the lettuce was thinly sliced so that the texture didn't steal the show from the fish.
I was just curious if they used salad cream or mayonnaise.
It was good the oil was fresh as the fried stuff didn't have an old oil taste and they were perfectly golden and blonde!
[Strangely, HKers have a different definition of blonde......when they see dark brown hair they call it gold].
Although I like their menu, I wish they would have something simple like bun with Jam so that I can taste their fresh bread better.
Overall, it was good and finishing with tea is just perfect.
Hope to see some more bakery items on the menu later.
