On one lazy Sunday by myself, I decided to explore the area of Shek Tong Tsui. All this started with lunch.Ethos is a casual eatery at the top of Hill Road in the Shek Tong Tsui area. You can either walk all the way up the steep hill to the very top or you can take the MTR to HKU station and walk to your left along Pok Fu Lum Road so you can avoid the steep walk upwards. After a lot of huffing and puffing, I made it! And it was pretty busy!
Spacious with a large communal table in the center, it's next to a pop up space that changes theme that is also run by them. Menu was in English only. As it was Sunday, they had a brunch-like menu. They have a minimum order of one order per person. Just to let you know.
Lychee Raspberry Soda ($38). My drink was very nice. There was a nice balance of soda water with the sweetness of the lychee raspberry syrup. They threw in a piece of mint for a touch of freshness.
Crab Crepe Wrap ($88). Beautifully plated, this was mind blowingly yummy. The crepe was not the buckwheat variety but more Japanese style so a lot more lighter. It was wrapped entirely of crab meat that was lightly coated with lemon mayonnaise. Huge chunks of crab meat. It was so delicious, I am still thinking about it now. It was served with a salad and half an avocado. The salad was tossed with a light citrus vinaigrette.
This is definitely not a rush and eat place as food did take a while to be served. But it was delicious. Not only looked beautiful, but tasted wonderful. I think I left thinking to myself, my top favorite restaurant of this year. I will be back!
