Drawing Room has a unique blend of hominess and elegance that's hard to find in Hong Kong. We are impressed by the stair case and it's decor leading up to the restaurants. It was full when we arrive at 8:30. Although the seatings are fairly close to each other, we were fortunate to have mostly small gatherings of friends and family who enjoy cozy conversation and there seems to be a silent protocol in the room to maintain that ambiance through out the evening. The waiters are friendly and proud
The waiters are friendly and proud of their chef's menu creation and take pain to explain to first timers like us on what are the popular and must try dishes. It does remind me of our dining experience in Europe and Australia (where waiters are considered an almost professional role).
A very nice and wide range of wine selection to choose from and probably one of the most extensive Italian wine list I have come across. We picked a second wine from the well known producer out of the Tuscan area and it was great value for money.
Food has a creative flair and yet a familiar Italian tone to it. The fois gras and scampi carpaccio are my favorites. The prawn linguini showed off the quality of pasta dish one would expect from a first class Italian restaurant and the main courses are good but no surprises there. Dessert is probably not a focus or strength here but again they are all consistent quality and bring the evening to a good finish.
