My family and I will frequently go out of our way to come to this restaurant and wait as long as it takes to get a table. It often takes a long time, but that's because the restaurant is so popular. If you know what they serve then it is unlikely that you mind the waiting time. The usual waiting time we experience is abuot 20 minutes, although they provide chairs outside for you and there are peak days and times (we haven't figured these out yet). The food isn't the best Japanese in Hong Kong, bu
The food isn't the best Japanese in Hong Kong, but it is authentic and enjoyable. The portions are huge so if you have a small appetite, then I advise you share. So far, we have never been able to order dessert as we're too full. All main courses come with a bowl of rice and bowl of miso soup, as is traditional. Their silken tofu isn't the best and I don't advise you go out of your way to order it. The chicken salad, however, is perfect for those wanting something lighter but demand protein (as is so common in Hong Kong).
The ingredients optimise the taste and compliment each other, it's got the comforting warmth of home. All the food is also 'safe', so if you feel adventurous then this restaurant may not be for you. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes though! Everything is average, if not above.
It is important to note that one of the fish dishes is extremely bony, so ask the waiter before you order.
The atmosphere isn't stuffy, it is most definitely family-friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful, although don't come expecting 5-star service.
I highly recommend this restaurant, but hope that they expand so that it's less of a hassle to get there and the waiting time decreases!

Free refills on rice, if you ask for it.
