I chanced upon this place while wandering, hungry, through Tsuen Wan. I am so pleased that I did.I saw the sign and was suddenly filled with nostalgia for the awesome Yang's Fried Dumplings in Shanghai. I went in and ordered their plate of four for $28. I sat down and within a couple of minutes, my shengjianbao were plonked down in front of me. The skin was thin - a step up from most in HK. Shanghai style should be thin as opposed to the breadier north Chinese version. The meat tasted good

The skin was thin - a step up from most in HK. Shanghai style should be thin as opposed to the breadier north Chinese version. The meat tasted good and they were filled with a lovely 'soup'. When eaten with the black Chinkiang vinegar, they were really good. Pretty close to the mark.
My only issue was that the bottom of them was not flat. This sounds trivial, bt actually makes them really hard to eat. As the bottom is hard (golden crispy), there is no give. The bad shape at the bottom made picking them up with chopsticks difficult. I like to bite off the top, drink some soup and then fill with vinegar before munching away, this was not easy to do with the misshapen bottom.
That being said - I really liked them and will be going back again.
