We arrived after shortly after 9pm,having booked for 18 people. Like many places, food is cheaper after 9pm with last orders being at 10.45pm. We were seated by around 9.15, a reasonable time considering our party and some people arriving later.

The decor was simple and modern with plenty of dark wood, bamboo and stone and well lit. A pleasant bustling atmosphere greeted us.

Toilets are very important to me as I spend a lot of time in them. Many facilities in Hong Kong restaurants and bars are really disgusting and leave me feeling dirtier having just entered them and can't wait to get out. These facilities were well equipped in a modern style and reasonable clean. A pleasant surprise.

I have no idea if the menu's at this place are available in English. As a Brit abroad, dining with my Chinese in-laws is a pleasure. I get to try lots of more local restaurants and I have no problems in getting the menu's translated for me, and in general they order some tasty stuff that they like which usually means I Iike.

My experiences are perhaps better or easier than some English speaking groups that may find ordering that strange looking seafood, a little challenging, and may confuse the frustrated, constipated, bemused look of waiter for a general grump as opposed to them just trying to understand an order in his or her third language.

We largely had a buffet of sushi, and sashimi. First up were tasty morsels of marinated scallop, conch, tofu and salads. I was in my element loving tasty bites of food. The quality of the sashimi and sushi to follow was fairly standard and presented quite well on large dishes, the flavours were good but not mind blowing. I had various pieces of beef, pork and lamb in various marinades too. I cannot complain about any of the food I popped into my over-sized mouth.

Particularly tasty to me were the following. A boiled egg with a runny yolk on the inside that seem to be soaked in a sweet soy sauce or tea like liquid. The cow tongue in a picante sauce was also a good texture with a surprising burst of fiery but not too hot flavour. The barbequed mushrooms were amazing, but I wouldn't be able to eat too many, as the smoky flavour may overwhelm some. The squid rings in a sweet teriaki sauce were good and finally the theatre of the last dish was great. Deep fried glutinous rice balls filled with a minced squid and drizzled in either salad cream or cheese sauce (i think). Atop this fine shavings of dried fish were added. The heat from the ball made the fish flakes move as thought they were tiny sea creatures moving in the ocean currents. I sat watching it for five minutes before putting them in my mouth and enjoying their taste.

Service was quick and efficient. Not overly friendly but then we didn't worry about that...they took the orders and we got the food that was the deal.

Price wise I cannot comment as I didn't pay. Was it value for money, I'm not sure, possibly not, but it was good and you probably got what you paid for. Keep it up.
