Indian with malay... that should give us plenty to choose from, I thought. And I was right, there were plenty of dishes, some distinctly malay or Indian, others somewhat inbetween. But regardless, we went for the eggplant curry, the beef rendang, and the chana masala roti (which was naan bread with tomato, onion and potato stuffed inside). The TV was distracting, but at least it was showing the news and not some canto soap opera. The air conditioning was quite strong, which might be a good thing
The TV was distracting, but at least it was showing the news and not some canto soap opera. The air conditioning was quite strong, which might be a good thing if it was a sizzling hot day in the summer, but probably not in spring. The poppadum with mint and mango chutney were very nice, and I have to say that sadly, that was the tastiest part of the meal. The rest of the food came at a rather slow pace, but at least the curry dishes came with the rice and bread. Despite looking like they were gonna be tasty, I couldn't bring myself to say I could taste much in either dish, it was really that bland. The chutney was the saving grace. And did I mention the beef had chewy bits in it? Alas, fooled me again with those nice deep colours.
