The burger we ate at Corner Burger is easily one of the ost disturbing things we have eaten in Hong Kong.We went just after lunch and we had high hopes of the place. After sitting down, we were told that as it was after lunch time, we could not order any sides - no fries, no onion rings, but pasta is OK? Anyway, we forged ahead and got two cheeseburgers. The menu says that it is a 'unique burger experience', and while true, it is not a good one. The menu also listed a whole raft of different cuts of beef used in the patty. What arrived was the strangest burger either of us had ever seen.
The burgers are served with 'gravy' - this brown sauce was flavourless and little odd, but the real problem was the patty. The menu also states that every burger is served medium. This is not we received. The patty was sloppy and had a strange texture to it. It was also brown all of the way through, while having the texture of a rare patty. It was strange because we were unable to discern how they cooked it like that. It was as if someone had shown a picture of a burger to the chef, who then tried to make something they had never seen or eaten in real life. It basically utterly put us off our food and we didn't finish our burgers.
The other issue was the bun. It was enormous and not very soft, so that it pushed all of the mushy patty out as a kind of mystery meat ooze when we bit into it.
The service was a little gruff and there seemed to be little care taken to make the dining experience positive for the customer.
Still looking for that great burger in Hong Kong.
