Boyfriend and I were in Wanchai heading for dinner. Originally we were thinking of going somewhere else, but boyfriend stopped in front of this restaurant and wanted to eat here instead.By day, it's a typical cha chan teng. But at night, they have dai pai dong style dishes. They even have beer by the big size bottle. By day, it's a typical cha chan teng. But at night, they have dai pai dong style dishes. They even have beer by the big size bottle. They have a big menu that is only in Chinese but they have plenty of photos along with a set dinner set for groups of 2 and above that are only in Chinese. There is no English but when I was there that night, a Caucasian tourist came in by himsel, holding a copy of Lonely Planet. The staff helped him out and gave him an English menu.
Steamed Chicken with Spring Onions and Wine ($188). We ordered half a chicken as there was only two of us. The chicken was moist and not dry. There was a strong taste of alcohol and boyfriend said it was due to the fact they used gin as the sauce base. Thus, it was a pretty boozy chicken. I think the alcohol was a bit much. But after a while, I didn't taste it so it must have evaporated.
