This place is literally right next door to where we live, and on Thursday we headed over there with some friends. Here's a quick rundown on what we ordered:

Green curry: surprisingly greasy and bland. My wife judges Thai restaurants on their green curry, and so she's decided this place is terrible. C+

Curry in bread: Curry in a bread bowl seems really exciting, until you find the bread is this sweet yellow Chinese egg bread. I didn't get to try the curry, as other people ate all of it first. That's a good sign. I did have the curry-soaked bread, and it wasn't particularly good.

Dried rice noodles with chili and basil: Think Hor Fun with some basil and you've got the idea. Pretty plain greasy fried noodles, but that's my thing. It had shredded bits of lettuce mixed in (I think it was supposed to be on a bed of lettuce, but that's not really how it turned out)-- I think I could've done without. B-

Papaya salad: Refreshing, of course, and not horrible, but pretty lifeless and lackluster. C+

Fried eggplant: This was like a combination shrimp cake and fried eggplant. It was hot and crispy and delicious. A

Satay: I thought the satay was quite tender and flavorful. My wife didn't like it. I'll admit that I haven't had satay in a while, so maybe I don't remember Ideal Satay, but just on its absolute rather than comparative merits, I'd give it a B+.

Fried fish: I didn't order this so I can't tell you exactly where it is on the menu. It was a fish, bones and all, cut up into parts and then deep fried. Some of the parts were crunchy, flavorless, and full of bones, other parts were crispy, greasy and had actual fish flesh in them. The good parts were reasonably good, but I don't think I'd order this again. C+

I thought the place was reasonable, and for the price (about $100 a head, and we ate and drank a lot) it wall all you could expect. I'm gonna give it a B.
