Deluxe Sandwiches Express is a place that I walk by a lot on my way to somewhere in Wanchai. Not once have I bothered to stop and eat here. So, on this day, boyfriend and I were wondering what to have for lunch before heading to the exciting world of the Food Expo near by as we wanted something light and not too heavy as we were probably going to eat something while at the Food Expo.Deluxe Sandwiches Express is a very local fast food type of place. Deluxe Sandwiches Express is a very local fast food type of place. It serves not only sandwiches but hot dogs and noodles. It gets a fair number of customers. Mainly for it's inexpensive prices and their fast service. Menu is in English and Chinese. All sets come with a drink.
Hamburger with Mexican Sauce ($20). As the afternoon tea set menu was available, boyfriend was curious what a hamburger with Mexican sauce was. Well ... this is what it was. Literally a hamburger bun with what they called Mexican sauce spread into it. Mexican sauce was tomato, some ground meat and beans. The sauce was not too bad but it definitely wasn't Mexican except for the additon of beans, I suppose? Roasted Chicken Breast with Cheese and Tomato Submarine ($37). This was probably a foot long sandwich. Bread was ok. Taste was rather sweet so definitely a more Asian type of bread. There was quite of bit of chicken meat, one slice of processed cheese and some tomatoes and lettuce. A decent splattering of mayo. It tasted ok, though the chicken was a bit dry. Overall, ok sandwiches. Not great sandwiches. But for this price that comes with a drink, a lot more cheaper than say Subway. Service was fast and quite friendly. There is no 10% service charge. Would probably return again if in the area.
