Had a super hectic week last week, I thought i only slept for 20 hrs in total, so i just need a day off today!It's just too boring to stay at home all day my myself so I just went to find my old lovely colleagues for lunch!We didnt have any preference so we just wondered around in I square and we found out its the grand opening of Marugame Seimen TODAY!!OF COURSE! we needa try it out ASAP! Actually Merugame Seimen is quite a famous Udon Chain store in Japan ( mostly in West Japan), my first Merugame Seimen was in Shinsaibashi Osaka, when i was studying in Japan, Merugame Seimen is one of the cheapest yet Oishii restaurants for me! So i got quite a lot of memory for it!
The whole decoration is just same as Japan, they have an open kitchen and customers needa line up for picking the food,
So we just picked few different kind of Udon to share with each others! 豚骨汤乌冬, It's an exclusive udon for Hong Kong only! No more in Japan! I think the soup is okay and the pork is quite soft too, but i think the egg can be more 流心, i expected more from the egg!! $35/M $40/L
But I love the Shrimp Tenpura! The Shrimp is quite fresh and 炸浆 didnt taste too 'powdery' $12 酱油萝卜茸拌乌冬 It's not really my favorite coz I am not a big fan of this kind of white radish, My friend said it's okay with the lime, but i don't think it has any taste at all. I thought it's a cold udon but actually it's a hot dish!!$30/M $35/L
釜扬乌冬 This is one of my fav udon! Udon is put inside the warm water and then you needa put it into the cold source before eating it, it's kinda of a mixture of hot and cold, the texture of udon is not too soft, I hate those texture that taste like mochi once u put inside your mouth $25/M $30/L 冷乌冬 My friend just hate hot udon coz he thinks udon has to be cold! WEIRDO!! The source tastes quite different from the other Udon restaurant and they said they have a secret recipe in making the source, I guess they put quite a big portion of Fish soup inside (鲣鱼汁}, The udon tastes harder than the hot dish and I quite like the source tho! $25/M $30/L Of coz, the taste in Hong Kong is not as good as in Japan, but I think with this reasonable price, it's quite Okay! And I think besides the bread in panash, it's the cheapest restaurant in isqaure! There's no more $20 sth ramen or udon even in TST!
So I think i will come again neeee!!!!
