Eating at Ireland's Potato is a bit of a roller coaster experience. The first time I ate here, I really liked the Potato Fries/Chips. Still haven't been able to confirm this yet 100% but I know they've been previously frozen, but the tastebud tells me they've been pre-treated and pre-processed at a plant as well to give it this texture - since even frozen but unprocessed chips don't normally have this texture as the cells when sliced become too 'wet'.
There is nothing wrong with that. I like the frozen chips here and in Burger King in HK.
The sauces however are disastrous - cheese always not hot enough, bacon bits are hard to come by and has no taste, the sour cream also doesn't taste like anything remotely like a proper sour cream. Feels like by paying $30+ dollars, I'm not receiving any TOPPINGS at all on my chips.
The dilemma? The chips are lovable and additive. But the toppings are crap. What do you do? Perhap I will bring my own bottle of Egg Mayonnaise to eat with the chips next time.
