Chôm Chôm gives off this vibe of "the place to see and be seen". On popular weeknights, you'll always see a crowd hanging outside, either waiting for a table or imbibing and chatting over cigarettes. I was surprised that we were able to walk-in without a reservation on a Friday; guess you can snag a table if you come early enough.

We tried all the popular dishes: VFC Vietnamese Fried Chicken (perfectly fried and seasoned with a little spicy kick), the pho rolls (like pho, but in sushi form), salt & pepper squid (dat sauce doe) and the shaking beef (shaken, not stirred, and delish.) All were fantastic!

Don't forget to check out what's listed on the mirror menu next to the bar, as there seem to be specials there that are worth trying. I didn't notice it until after we ordered, and the table next to us seemed to be really enthused with the tuna rolls.

The only thing I didn't enjoy was my Mekong Lady cocktail. It was supposed to have flavours of lemongrass and lemon, but it tasted like straight up gin. Not sure what happened there!
