Reason for visiting:
No one wanted to cook, so my family and I decided to stay close to home for a bite. I thought of this place because I had come here before and thought that it was not bad.
Environment & Hygiene:
It was one of these come and go places, so since there were a few of us, we luckily got a table to ourselves without having to sit with others. For the type of place it was, it was okay for hygiene. Service:
Again, for the type of place it was, service was actually not bad. We weren't rushed to order or anything like that. However, the staff somehow turned our inquiry about having a soup instead of a drink with the set into an order. We thought they very kindly gave the soup to my grandma, but we later found out that we actually had to pay for it.
Taste & Value:
All lunch sets come with a drink for about $40-$45. Since we all wanted "bun" , we decided to order different ones and exchange toppings. What we ordered:
1. Lemongrass Pork Bun
These noodles had more lettece, pickled radish and carrots than usual. They were good, but somehow lacking flavours. The sauce you use to pour on top was less acidic than others, which was okay for me because I don't usually use that much for my noodles. The pork on the other hand was packed with flavours, but a bit dry. 2. Shrimp Cake Bun
This shrimp cake tasted fresh and the meat had a bounce. It was quite good. 3. Spring Roll Bun
For some reason, I thought these spring rolls were the best vietnamese spring rolls I have had. I can't even say why since the filling was the same. Everything was just right. Halfway through, we saw that the table next to us ordered some Satay ($60) that looked so tempting so we decided to order some as well. We got half beef and half chicken. The beef was surprisingly tender. It had a weird texture though, like the texture of a meatball. Maybe they used ground beef? It was good though. I was too full to try the chicken, but both my sister and aunt said that the chicken was good. Final Verdict:
I've visited before and would continue to visit.
