Kiki Noodle Bar is a place we've been to many times for a casual place to eat in Tsim Sha Tsuie. They always have decently priced noodle sets. When we were there, they had a summer set menu that costs $158. Menu is in English and Chinese. The set includes a choice of snack, a cold noodle dish and a lime calamansi drink. As it was hot out, this seemed like a good option.
The Lime Calamansi Lime drink was quite good. Sour and sweet very refreshing. There was also some jelly as well so you have something the chew on. This drink is something I would definitely order again.
The set includes a choice of two chilled appetizers. We decided to share both.
One appetizer is the Century Egg with Chili Sauce. The eggs were clear like glass with a nice jelly consistency. The yolks melted away easily. There was a drizzle of their popular Kiki chili sauce that is very fragrant with the right amount of heat.
The other appetizer is the Cucumber Salad with Garlic and Vinegar. The cucumbers were still crunchy and the marinade had soaked in very well so there was a nice sourness to clense the palate.
There are three choices of noodles to choose from and boyfriend chose the Thai Basil Chili Pepper Minced Pork Mixed Noodles as he was curious. He's had this in rice form but he was curious if it would work with noodles. And it did. The mince was plentiful, fragrant from the basil and herbs. There was a slight heat from the spices and the noodles clung to the mince well.
I had something not spicy and they do have this option from the three choices. This was the Hiyashi Chuka with Assorted Seafood. I love Japanese cold noodle so this I liked. There was plenty of toppings: cucumber, mini scallops, slices of octopus, imitation crab sticks, chicken meat, carrot and egg. So, much toppings that I had some with every bite of noodle. The sauce was cold and refreshing and they even provide you with a bit more so you don't have to worry about not having enough. The noodles were still springy.
A decent price set with good size portions. Seating was spacious and food came out quickly probably as this is Central and people are usually rushing back to work.
