Causeway Bay has a lot of restaurants but what it does lack is a small independent coffee shop that serves a decent cup of coffee. I mean ... yeah, you can go Elephant Grounds but quite honestly, it's seriously so noisy you can't hear yourself think.Elixir is a new coffee shop located on Haven Street. Elixir is a new coffee shop located on Haven Street. A really wonderful street in Causeway Bay I love for it's quiet corner with so many wonderful places to eat. The coffee shop isn't very big but it was rather busy on a weekday afternoon. I suspect it had it's own following. It's small and cozy with a few chairs and benches.
Menu is in English only. They not only serve coffee but tea as well. They had a display of pastries but when I arrived, they had run out of this delicious lemon cake I had seen on their Facebook page, thus only opted for coffee.
As it was a pretty hot day out, I decided to get an ice latte ($40). This barista really believed in a REALLY icy cold drink. Definitely the coldest ice latte I've ever had which was great for this hot summer day. The coffee was strong with a slight acidic taste. There was a minimal amount of milk so the coffee wasn't watered down by the taste of milk. A fairly decent cup of coffee.
Staff was friendly and fairly laid back. Wifi works fantastic. And as it's quiet, a perfect spot to have a cup of coffee without all the noise. Will be back.
