Winter in Hong Kong is the best time to eat at local dai pai dong. Lee Hou Fuk has an indoor seating area but we chose to sit outside since the weather was perfect. We ordered two dishes: rice with beef, water spinach, and shrimp paste $38 (虾酱通菜牛肉饭) and rice with chicken wing, sausage, ham, and egg $36 (鸡翼肠仔火腿蛋饭). Both were delicious and full of wok hei 镬气 as you’d expect from a dai pai dong. The egg was runny and perfect.


Each set comes with either daily soup or hot drink (+$2 for cold drink). The daily soup was flavourful without msg. The milk tea was okay, a bit more milky than other places.


The only downside is that the portion is a bit small. It was just perfect for us (two ladies) but may not be enough if you’re very hungry. Perhaps you can ask for extra rice?
