Mr. W Bakery is a castella cake shop that I often pass by on my way to my closest 759 Store. They often have various kinds of Taiwanese castella cakes. But on this day as I was passing by, I noticed they had cookies. This seemed new. They had various flavours of cookies. Price range from $25 -$28. The names of the cookies are in English and Chinese. I decided to buy a couple to try. They packaged them in plastic wrap for me so I could take them home easily. One of the cookies was a hochija chocola

One of the cookies was a hochija chocolate mochi ($28) which they said was a new flavour. It was a generous big size. It was very soft as well.
Inside there was a stretchy soft mochi. Not hard at all as some places I've had mochi stuffed cookies, it was always rock hard. The cookie wasn't too sweet. The chocolate wasn't too strong but you can really taste the hochija.
The other cookie was an Earl Gray Cranberry ($25). The cookie was soft with an intense flavour of Earl Gray tea. It also smelled fantastic. There were bits of dried cranberry throughout that helped make the tea flavour stand out even more.
Quite delicious cookies that aren't as expensive as the other cookie shops that offer this style of cookie. Not too sweet as well. Will definitely be back if I want a cookie break.
