) and is listed on the latest Michelin Guide, and there are certainly good reasons for this. Firstly, this Japanese restaurant has a classy modern interior design and offers superb views of the Kowloon waterfront from its large glass windows. Secondly, the food is of good quality and the price is not expensive. We tried the seafood shabu shabu set , with oyster, shrimps, fish, scallop, and 2 big snails - with such fresh ingredients, we considered the set (@$ 98) a real bargain. The special soup base (sesame with soya milk) was also nice and worth a try. The sauce that they offer for dipping the cooked food items - basically a self blended mixture of ginger, garlic, soya bean sauce, chilli peppers, and sesame sauce) was also very tasty and went very well with the food. We also ordered other items for the hot pot, like beef, pork, vegetables, tofu, udon etc etc, all of which were nice and fresh. One item called 年糕福袋 was particularly interesting - basically a piece of 年糕 wrapped in a small edible "bag" - very chewy and delicious !
At the end, we added the 和牛炒饭 which was also very good, with large chunks of the delicious beef together with tasty rice (a bit like fried gelatinous rice really) - another must-order item !
All these plus a beer and a drink, and we we ended up really full (otherwise we would have tried the desserts as well, which they offer at half price after 9:30pm !). In summary, we had a most enjoyable evening at this nice "corner". Will definitely come back to "hea" again (as its other name suggests
) and try its desserts.
