First time ever to visit Very Good Restaurant for Guangdong cuisines even I walk past it countless times on Nathan Road.With a friend’s invitation for movie (The Woverines!!!!!) on last Friday night , we decided to head over to Very Good Restaurant & try for their dinner menu.The restaurant is at the basement, so have to walk down the stairs to find their entrance. With a friend’s invitation for movie (The Woverines!!!!!) on last Friday night , we decided to head over to Very Good Restaurant & try for their dinner menu.
The restaurant is at the basement, so have to walk down the stairs to find their entrance. Once we walked in, we saw lots of pictures of the restaurants chefs with celebrities & famous food critics. Typical ways for the Chinese restaurants to showcase their famosity. But since too many restaurants are doing the same tricks, so it’s not really the only way to consider if that restaurant is good or not anymore.
No waiting time at all, since the table already booked in advance. It was almost full when we arrived & the restaurant was filled up around 8pm. So people without booking is definitely need to wait for a table.
Ordered 5 dishes & 1 pot of daily Chinese soup with complementary fruits & dessert.
The filling included crunchy celery, carrots, bamboo shoots stripes & Chinese mushroom’s cubes.

Sorry for the excessive exclamation mark here, ’cause just words can’t explain how good it was. Broadcast advertisement about their suckling pig was on the whole night when we had dinner there…it kept saying something like..”still have 15 minutes, fresh suckling pig is available!!!” Interesting advertisement tactics!
The soup of the day was served up by this time.
The rice noodle was pretty dry, not soggy/wet & went really went with the other ingredients.
Time for the complementary fruits & dessert!
But for me, I’m not totally fancy this, but I don’t mind eating. This one from Very Good restaurant wasn’t too sweet, which is good.
In general, the whole meal was quite healthy & well-balanced in between of meats & vegetable dishes.
Everyone should go there to try their suckling pig dish!!! I’ll go back for that as well if I get chances.
