After a long day at work and a bit a shopping here and there, what better way to regain energy than having dinner! To be quick, we chose the set menu - less thinking, rightTo start off, we got the Soup of the Day in a mug. Quite convenient to finish at the end like a drink. To start off, we got the Soup of the Day in a mug. Quite convenient to finish at the end like a drink. The set came with coffee (which we did not take). For a ridiculous amount of $28, we could upgrade our drinks, but seriously, I don't think it was not worth it. Too bad the restaurant didn't have regular tea.
Soups are at their best when hot, which was exactly how they were served at SUZUKI Café's . Big Thumbs Up for this refreshing and hot starter! I can't say the same thing for the appetizer platter however.
The chicken wings were not bad, only a little salty. Less Teriyaki sauce would do the trick. The Pan-fried Dumplings were okay. As for the Pumpkin & Pine Nuts Salad, perhaps I don't eat pumpkin often, but I didn't enjoy the blend of creamy dressing with the pumpkin bits. For the Main Dishes, we had the Japanese-style Stew Beef Brisket Rice Pot (#2) and the Spaghetti Carbonara w/ Okinawan Onsen Tamango (#3).
The rice didn't taste great. It lacked flavour and was too glutinous. Too rich, even for two... The Carbonara, on the other hand, was a success. A little creamy without being thick, with lots of sauce, perfect for people who like moist food.
The Hokkaido Milk Crème Brûlée served well as a Finale. The top was warm and broke like ice, while the bottom remained cold. What a delight!
题外话/补充资料：
[b]SUZUKI Café Company[/b] is located inside a movie theatre.
The décor consisting of wood, paper cranes and plants give off the impression of being in park inside a building.
Good effort in design!
