The Champions Palace for our meetup dinner. The company was great but the per
head set menu was oh-so dreadful. And there was service charge to be added to
the final bill.
All dishes were of dismal appearance and presented in a sea of pastel
coloured gravy not appealing to the palate whatsoever. Looked like the attempts
of a rookie chef left to their own creative devices and this was the totally
bland tasting outcome.
The starter dish of cold cucumber slices in spicy sauce was a charged itemed
dish, where in other restaurants normally presented as a pre-dinner snack dish.
The cold iceplant coated in sesame salad dressing dish was an offering of minimialist entry attempt to
finer dining which didn’t appeal taste or appearance wise.
The broccoli dish was just blanched and sent out packed like a ball. So inventive and appetizing.
The chinese creamed cabbage dish tasted creamy and less said the better.
As a dim-sum restaurant, they had the audacity to serve items probably
unsold during the day and bundled it into the set menu. Mini glutinous rice in lotus leaf was offered
as the rice dish within the menu.
Food items from the menu was representative of those tiny in the wall
snack shops and not of a restaurant located in iSquare.
Venue was in line with other restaurants, but with only a few tables
to be waited on the service was severely lacking and non-existent. If this is
the kind of offering this restaurant churns out, how can it possible entice
patrons to revisit. Very poor.
