Doesn’t honor its promises

Before it opened, they had a sign saying to sign up for a membership and redeem a free coffee. I signed up, ordered and they made the coffee. There was some problem with the redemption process, and as I was in a rush the staff urged me to take the coffee first and come back to sort it out. When I came back, they said the offer was invalid due to signing up late and I was forced to pay for it. I was upset with this mainly because the staff had told me to take the coffee first and I came back in g

There was some problem with the redemption process, and as I was in a rush the staff urged me to take the coffee first and come back to sort it out. When I came back, they said the offer was invalid due to signing up late and I was forced to pay for it. I was upset with this mainly because the staff had told me to take the coffee first and I came back in good faith believing they would honor their agreement, and left with a sour taste in my mouth.

I have no problem with paying for a $43 coffee but I made it known that I was there to redeem the offer and they should have honoured the promise made on their signage, as I would never have taken the coffee if I had known the offer was invalid. I believe that a coffee is a small price to pay for a high end establishment located in Admiralty, and if they were serious about their customers’ loyalty they would value it more than that. I would not recommend this location.
