Having booked this restaurant in December, 2019, we are finally here for the long-awaited, talk of the town, the rare Sunday Felix brunch in the one and only Peninsula. Risking ourselves in this pandemic to come to this seemingly eggcellent place for our anniversary, we (at least I) am/are so hyped and so looking forward to this brunch. (even starved myself a bit for this) To fulfil my husband’s ,aka the pickiest and fussiest eater, in the world, requests for a proper requirement, a great dining

To fulfil my husband’s ,aka the pickiest and fussiest eater, in the world, requests for a proper requirement, a great dining location needs to be:
1. nice environment
2. hospitable
3. ** live band
4. decent and proper food

Felix seems to have ticked all these requirements, so here we go!!

Having requested to sit by the window, I am right to do so on this perfect Sunny day!

So owing to the pandemic, it is no longer a semi-buffet but it is served by the waiters dish after dish.

I felt like it has defeated the original purpose of being a semi-buffet when we dont have our chance to choose what we wanna eat but the dishes were brought to us.

We were first greeted by the welcome drink and the food basket— we have tried the croissants, cross buns, rye bread. I quite like the cross buns with raisins and some dried fruits in it.

Here comes the appetisers, pork croquettes were pretty much like totties filled with bacon. The scallops were not out of this world but had a hint of zesty flavour. The deville stuffed eggs were the most interesting of all, but not worth ordering/ taking if it was a semi-buffet.

Then, it comes our egg arlington. Not very special and probably wont finish it if i havent waited for so long for this dish after the tapas and bread basket.

Waiting for another good old 10-15 minutes after we finished the egg arlington, then here comes one of the highlights of the day —cold cut and seafood platter.
My fussy eater husband and I both agreed that the ham black label was the best among these three. The chorizo was a disgrace honestly.

I like the abalone and the lobster but my husband said the seafood was surely fresh, however, they were not divine/ exquisite/ rich to be called as tasty.

Our main course — pluma and atlantic salmon.
He didnt even finish his salmon as it was a bit too fishy for his liking and he had overlooked the sauce which would be hollandise again so he was a bit disappointed for how similar it would taste with the egg arlington.

Again, nothing out of this world but it is definitely photogenic and instagrammable.
But the lemon tart was probably one of the worst desserts I have ever tasted in my life.

Okay, so to my obnoxious husband, said it was not up to its name and I might have to disagree no matter how reluctant I am...

1. i was freezing cold after all the cold cuts and cold food... was definitely craving for some warm/ hot food but the only hot dishes were the main and the soup/ tea served after the desserts.
2. we didnt have all the food listed/ offered as the portion was definitely too much for two.... should have given the customers a bit more freedom and the pace should definitely be improved!!! We dont want to be synchronised with other diners.

We have been to Peninsula to dine for different occasions and to be honest, this was probably one of the most disappointing experience among all.

The view was absolutely stunning, the service was okay(but not super attentive/ heart-warming) but the food was definitely catastrophic.
True, the price says it all — around $1000 per person. But we could’ve better choice during these days.

So, after all, not an egg-cellent brunch on this Easter holiday.
