Dinner. L-shaped counter seating approximately 14, overlooking 2 friendly chefs serving. A few tables on the side. 2 sets to choose from: $680 or $1080, the main difference being the latter offering a sashimi course plus a hot dish. None of us felt like having sashimi, so decided on the $680 menu. Here’s what we had.Trio of starters: cold egg, walnut with cheese plus duck breast and seaweed in vinegar. Here’s what we had.
Trio of starters: cold egg, walnut with cheese plus duck breast and seaweed in vinegar. (Forgot to take photo.)
Appetizer: Beef tartar, uni and caviar sandwiched between teddybear-shaped rice crackers.
4 pieces of A4 Wagyu for Sukiyaki:-
- Ribeye x 1, served with leeks and a mouthful of Japanese rice. Chef recommended this relatively fatty cut to be taken with 兰王蛋 with its signature bright orange-red egg yolk and strong egg aroma.
-Sirloin x 1, served with tofu and mushroom. Also to be taken with 兰王蛋.
-Chuck x 2 served with onions. To be taken with the foamy pasteurized egg.
5 Types of Japanese Vegetables including tofu, enoki mushroom etc.
Pickles, Soup and supposedly rice which we changed to udon.
Shaved ice for dessert: choice of blueberry yogurt or matcha red bean.
In summary: enjoyable evening with good food and good service.
