At the airport and waiting for my flight to leave, I was a bit hungry and went to the food court area. Lo and behold, they have completely renovated the food court. All my usual go-to place is now gone and replaced with much fancier fare. One was Gordon Ramsay Plane Food To Go. I had eaten at the one in Heathrow Airport but that one was more of an actual restaurant with service. The one in Hong Kong is literally a food court. One was Gordon Ramsay Plane Food To Go. I had eaten at the one in Heathrow Airport but that one was more of an actual restaurant with service. The one in Hong Kong is literally a food court. They have grab and go items on one side.
They also have made to go items which are EXACTLY the same as the to go items but costs a bit more as they include a drink. And if you calculate it out if you grab a drink and a food, it does actually cost exactly the same. So, I chose a made to order item.
Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. Once you order, they will give you a pager that will ring when the food is ready for pick up. This is actually pretty fast.
I had the chicken meatball pasta ($128). The size of the drink was pretty large. The portion of the pasta was also very big. This is definitely a shareable portion size. It was ok. The pasta was nicely coated with plenty of sauce. The meatballs were fairly good. Soft and moist. The sauce was a rich tomato sauce with fresh basil and a nice douse of Parmesan cheese. For food court, this exceeded my expectations. I was expecting a lot of slop. But this was surprisingly good. The price may be expensive for a food court but I always find eating at the airport to be pretty costly. Even before when I ate at my usual food court at the airport, it cost me close to a $100. So, I guess I'd rather eat something that costs about the same and get decent food out of it.
