Fairyland TSTAs a Chicken-holic Korean studying in Hong Kong, I have to say that Fairyland has chickens that taste just like those in Korea. As a Chicken-holic Korean studying in Hong Kong, I have to say that Fairyland has chickens that taste just like those in Korea. Chickens in fairyland are legit Korean fried chicken and I am always delighted to visit Fairyland, where I feel as if I am back in Korea.
When I first entered the restaurant, I was surprised with the atmosphere. The interior of the restaurant reminded me of a typical fried chikcen restaurant in Korea, and realized that Fairyland was a chain-restaurant that is a big success in Korea.
I ordered two dishes with a friend of mine. First was grilled-fried chicken which is the most favored dish among Koreans. I was too eager to eat that I forgot to take pictures, but it was more than enough for two people. It had a deep barbaqued taste, since grilled-fried chicken is first fried than grilled. Also, spicy pepper, jalapeno, and raddish were good combinations with the main dish. I have to say that it is worth the money.
Another dish that we've ordered was stir-fried rice cake, which is probably widely known in Hong Kong for Korean streetfood. I couldn't taste any instant sauce in the food, and tasted as if the sauce was made by the chief. (Trust me, there is a difference.) My overall thought on this restaurant is, if you want to try out some real Korean fried chicken and some dishes, Fairyland is the restaurant that you could go to in Hong Kong. The dishes fit both the Koreans and Hong Kong people's appetite and still have the most similar taste of Korea among other restaurant in Hong Kong.
