Had dinner with a girlfriend late on a Monday night at this French restaurant I've been meaning to try for ages. I love their location on the laid-back streets of Noho, just down a few steps from Hollywood Road. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular here if not for their aloof-to-the-point-of-being-unwelcoming service. The blonde waitress - in true Parisian style - was the opposite of warm. For dessert it was a tough choice between Apple Tarte Tatin and the molten chocolate cake but in the end VALRHONA CHOCOLATE TEXTURES (HK$100) won. Inside: biscuit moelleux, choco-peanut, crumble, ganache, raspberry (if I remember correctly). It was so-so. Cake a bit bready. Maybe we should have gone for the tarte tatin.
Would I go back?
Probably yes. Honestly the vibe, location, and food make strong enough cases for an encore.
