Final birth month celebration for XO

As April comes to a close, so does XO's birth month celebrations.  For the final celebration, XO's cousin treated him to dinner at Taylor Shellfish Farms, and I was invited to the special occasion!  XO's cousin said that this is the farm she used to order her oysters from when she lived in the US!I was running late on the day of the dinner, so I rushed to the table as soon as I got to the restaurant and didn't get to take pictures of the decor.Since we're here to celebrate XO's birthday, we orde

As April comes to a close, so does XO's birth month celebrations.  For the final celebration, XO's cousin treated him to dinner at Taylor Shellfish Farms, and I was invited to the special occasion!  XO's cousin said that this is the farm she used to order her oysters from when she lived in the US!

Since we're here to celebrate XO's birthday, we ordered a bottle of white wine to cheers to the occasion!

 The oyster menu was really extensive, and we had a hard time picking out which oysters we wanted.  The server helped us pick which oysters to order according to our preferences.  In addition to oysters, we decided to order some garlic bread, french fries with black truffle, a Caesar Salad, and some clams.

 Garlic Bread: The garlic bread was perfectly crispy, and it had a strong, but not bitter, garlic flavor.  It was so good that we were fighting for it and decided to place a second order of garlic bread.

 French Fries with Black Truffle: The french fries were fried to a golden brown!  It had a nice crispy crust and a soft inside.  The black truffle was served on the side, and we saved most of it for XO, the biggest black truffle fan amongst us!

 Our oysters were served on a platter filled with ice, and the oysters were labeled by slips of paper.

 USA Grand Cru ($59): This oyster had a crisp texture, and the flesh was pretty thick and toothsome.  The light, fresh flavor made this a nice oyster to start with.

 Ireland Majestic ($49): This oyster had a thinner body, but the salinity was stronger.  I preferred the brininess of this oyster and its stronger flavor over the first oyster.

 French Ostra Regal ($59): This oyster had a creamy texture as the server said it would, and I really loved the texture and strong salinity and flavor of the French Ostra Regal!  This oyster is my favorite of the night.

 Caesar Salad: The romaine was crunchy and fresh.  There were plenty of bacon bits and croutons, and the salad had just the right amount of dressing.  It was a light refreshing change to the palate after the flavor-heavy oysters!

 US Manila Clams with White Wine: The clams were nice and plump, but the chef might have been a little heavy handed with the white wine because the dish had a bitter taste that was a bit unpleasant!

With their fresh oysters and delicious bar snacks, Taylor Shellfish Farms was the perfect venue for our final celebration of XO's birth month!
