first visit to LPQ in HK

Being Belgian i eagerly anticipated the opening of the LPQ branch here in HK (wasn't aware of the Wanchai one until visiting the website. I've been to LPQ many times (usually for lunch) back home in Bruxelles and London. Unfortunately, i was very disappointed w the HK branch. The menu - overpriced but given the location that was to expected - has much less variety and either offers dull options (Nicoise salad w canned tuna) or some localized items. I've been to LPQ many times (usually for lunch) back home in Bruxelles and London. Unfortunately, i was very disappointed w the HK branch. The menu - overpriced but given the location that was to expected - has much less variety and either offers dull options (Nicoise salad w canned tuna) or some localized items. The soup of the day (vegetable) was lots of onions w a few carrots added in in a bowl of water - bland. The bread was stale and tasteless - maybe frozen, flown in from Belgium and defrosted. The omelet was runny and lacked flavor -- there 're lots of other places in HK w far better omelettes at a lower price. The iced tea was also a total disappointment. Staff seem enthusiastic but clearly lack training (e.g., serving soup & main entree at same time). Probably for the local Chinese this branch will be fine and one of the places to 'be seen' but having experienced the 'real thing' in Europe the HK LPQ was overpriced (it felt like a rip off) and pretty dismal quality-wise
