As the weather started to turn cooler, we planned to have steamboat tonight and my wife suggested 大笪地花胶鸡 as she knew that i loved to eat chicken. 大笪地花胶鸡 was located at Fee Tat Commercial Centre, couple of minutes walk from Mongkok MTR.They offered several soup base for their steamboat, such as chicken, pork, seafood and beef etc. The soup base ranges from $68 to $328. Shortly after we were seated, they brought us seasoning for us to mix, such as cut chilli, garlic, spring onion and soy sauce etc.
As we were eating steamboat, we need a glass of coke to clear our taste buds and cool our body.
Fish maw with chicken hotpot - They claimed that their soup base does not contain MSG, thus the soup was clear and sweet, absorbing the essence of the chicken. Fish maw was cooked till very soft and smooth, melting in my mouth. Chicken was boiled till juicy and smooth, chewy as well.
Fresh prawn paste - Prawn paste was chewy and juicy, with real prawn meat in it as well. We were able to taste the freshness of it.
Crispy flesh grass carp was very chewy and crunchy when cooked, and fresh as well.
Tofu was cooked till very soft and smooth, absorbing the essence of the soup base.
Instant noodles was cooked till chewy and flavourful, going well with the flavourful chicken soup base.
