Food for Value with Great Dessert

Tomato Special Cafe has been opened for two years and I remember I used to come here all the time when I was working Prince Edward area. Apparently they have changed the menu and style recently.  Each dinner set comes with buns, soup, and a drink

Tomato soup with warm dinner roll

The tomato soup very thin but still had a very strong tomato flavour. The taste was similar to those ones at "Gardxn Restaurant". The taste was almost representing any typical Hong Kong but with quality.

 The dinner roll was nicely warmed up beore it was served. The very buttery bun was a great complement with the soup. We liked to dip that into the soup, how about you?

 There were three big pieces of lamb chops, served with a pile of thick cut fries alongside, some fresh salad with balsamic vinegar, and some demi-glace sauce. The chops were all very tender and easy to cut into, while the fries were only seasoned with some paprika spices instead of salt.

 The perfectly cooked lamb chop was succulent with just a mild gamey flavour. My friend who was not a big fan of lamb could handle it. Meanwhile, the demi-glace sauce, pretty much just like a reduced rich beef stock, sort of intensify the meat flavour and you may also enjoy it with the fries!

 For every dinner set, you may enjoy a complimentary a hot drink or a iced drink with an extra $2. The iced lemon tea worths a mention because of its aromatic red tea flavour, which I think was a lot better than most of other restaurants in the same grade.

 Fancy something sweet? You may enjoy a daily dessert with only an extra $10. Today, they were serving New York cheesecakes.

 For y'all cheese lovers, this one is for you because of the richness of the cheese flavour. The smooth, creamy cheesecake with a slightly hardened buttery cookie base, it was definitely a dense and heavy finish to a nice meal so remember to save some room for the dessert when you come to Tomato Special Cafe.

 Overall, it was a good dining experience with very chatty and friendly staff. They were more than happy to discuss about their food with you. Besides, the price was also very seasonable for the relatively generous portion size. We highly recommend you to add extra $10 for their dessert because they were amazing. 

We were also told that there was a smooth milk pudding serving at the restaurant from to time but they run out quickly. Maybe it's worth booking your table prior?
