We went there sometime ago for our X'mas dinner of our department as well as to celebrate our boss' b-day. I called them in advance and to have some special arrangement and asked them to set up a special menu for us. First the manageress faxed a more expensive menu which is around HKD 600 with free drinks and i said we cant have so much drinks and asked her to change to a less expensive plan which includes 2 standard drinks and one coffee/tea (ie 3 drinks and should be enough for us). I called them in advance and to have some special arrangement and asked them to set up a special menu for us. First the manageress faxed a more expensive menu which is around HKD 600 with free drinks and i said we cant have so much drinks and asked her to change to a less expensive plan which includes 2 standard drinks and one coffee/tea (ie 3 drinks and should be enough for us). When I called her and wanted to confirm the less expensive plan(HKD 500), the manageress' manner was really bad and thought that I was making trouble to her, and she said something to push me back to the more expensive plan. In fact I think HKD 500 is not that cheap and I think there is no need to have such disappointing reaction. Anyway, we picked this restaurant and chose the HKD 500 plan. On that day, I also brought a b-day cake and asked them to present it to my boss after we were done with the whole dinner. Our set dinner provided one Foie Gras salad, one lobster bisque, one raspberry sorbet, one main course (fish/turkey/steak-choose 1 among the 3), one dessert (molten chocolate cake and pistachio ice cream). The foie gras salad was excellent, lobster bisque was terrible as it was very very salty! We felt we were having a bowl of Chinese oyster sauce (蚝油), raspberry sorbet was just abour average, no surprise, main course: people who chose fish said that the fish was very very good; most of us picked steak as we thought that this should be the best as this is a steak house, but actually the steak was very dry, not juicy, the texture was horrible, like eating barks; Turkey was the worst main course, I can tell even Cafe de Coral (大家乐) makes better food than it does! Dessert: the molten chocolate was too sweet and heavy - some of them even thought of not having chocolate anymore after having this dessert. And the taste of the pistachio ice cream was very weird - didnt finish it after one bite. The most disappointing thing was: as I have told them we wanted to celebrate our boss'b-day, I thought we would present the cake nicely and asked one or two staff to sing a song for him, but....sigh.....what they did was just one waitress walked to my boss and put the cake (with candles)in front of him and NO ONE SANG A SONG TO HIM.....she walked away from us after giving us the cake, so we just sang ourselves instead - VERY EMBARASSING!!! The manner of the english speaking manageress was really bad, waiters were NOT attentive, food (especially the steak) was not good with this crazy price, the steak was EXTREMELY disappointing, lobster bisque was too salty, dessert was not good, I can get a better one from a less expensive cake shop, service was bad, with this price I think I should deserve a better service and food. Anyway, two words "NOT WORTHWHILE"
