We were wandering around, without a real good idea of where to eat, when I saw Tuk Tuk and recalled that it had good reviews on OR, so we settled on that. It was really busy (this is a Friday evening), which is a good sign. They manage to seat the three of us in a way that we're partly overlapping tables with another group of three-- it was a little awkward, but as soon as more space opened up, we got it. For food we hadanang Curry w/ Duck: The curry was composed entirely of sauce and duck. Ther
Panang Curry w/ Duck: The curry was composed entirely of sauce and duck. There were no vegetables or fruits or anything: sauce and duck. The sauce was rich and tasty, but nothing special; the duck to my mind tasted a little bit like sausage. My dining companions thought it was great. B+
Pad Kee Mao: This is my favorite dish, it's flat rice noodles with chili, basil, and an assortment of vegetables and meats (I think we got chicken). This version certainly passed muster, but it wasn't anywhere near perfection: not spicy enough, not flavorful enough, not enough chewy noodles. B
Papaya Salad: I barely noticed the salad. It was alright... I guess? B
Pork Larb: So, I'm weird. I've only had larb once before this in my entire life. So I can't really compare this to much. On its own merits, it was definitely flavorful-- fishy, lemony, herby, and a little bit (but not very much) spicy. I'd definitely get it again. A-
This place had totally decent Thai food, but nothing spectacular. The servers were friendly, if a little inattentive (also overworked). You can definitely get better Thai food at cheaper prices in places that are less centrally located. But I will say that if you are right here, this place is a way better option than the Delicieux Bistro across the street. Final Score: B+
