Situated in the East of TST, not a crowded place with shoppers and tourists as in Harbour City or Nathan Road – a good venue after dinner, have a decent walk along the Harbour and look for some quiet place to sit and enjoyHolly cow is located near the footbridge to Hung Hom Railway station, while surrounded by the commercial towers in east TST. Holly cow is located near the footbridge to Hung Hom Railway station, while surrounded by the commercial towers in east TST. Some diners had good commentaries for this shop and I came to this shop with some reasonable expectation.
The shop was quite spacious and there are around 12 seats in the shop. Blue and white as its theme colours, the colourful menu becomes the centre of attention. There were 20 types of toppings:-
Non-fruits:- Aloe, Almonds, Coco Jelly, CoCo pop, Marshmallows, Oreos, Wheat Germs, Raisin, Granola
Fruits:- Banana, Blueberries, Dragon Fruit, Kiwi, Lychee, Longan, Mango, Pineapple, Strawberry, Grapefruit
Lured by the variety of toppings available – we had some difficulty in selecting which to mix in our original flavour yoghurt! We requested to try the original flavour cos I wanna know whether it is sour / milky. Ended up without trying the mango / mix flavour, we picked Large Size Original + CoCo pops + strawberries for our first yoghurt in this shop. Large Size is fit to share for two, $32,the size is slightly larger than a medium size soft drink of Mc Donalds, it’s a bit more than the medium size of Yomama, with 2 free toppings included. (Large: $32, Small: $28)
Its texture is 80% the same as soft ice-cream available in convenient stores, very easy to melt because when we finished half way, the other half melted quickly. The toppings are placed in the mid-layer of yoghurt, what a pity that it melted quickly. It adds value when it is a bit more “frozen”.
Compared with the Froyo shops I’ve been to, personally I like slightly sour yoghurt, Holly Cow is good one, but still, it melts in 15 minutes and it’s unacceptable. It worths a try but Yomama/ Milky Cow still top my list. Yoghurtime is for icy yoghurt lovers, Hollycow is the reverse.
There were still vacant seats available at 9-ish on this Sunday night, probably a nice place for buddies to gather, but definitely not a must-try for icy Frozen Yoghurt.
